Our partnership with Finovista  has resulted in us developing a growing portfolio of UK-India collaborative projects.

Support for the Compound Semi-Conductor Catapult to facilitate UK-India collaborations: With Finovista, we developed and delivered a 6m programme that identified suitable companies in India and the UK with potential to collaborate in relation to semiconductor applications, arranged mission and facilitated dialogues leading to successful new partnerships.

Support for the Digital Catapult in facilitating UK digital SMEs work with Indian corporates to build GHG reducing tech demonstrators: We were commissioned to support a programme that aimed to demonstrate UK SME’s tech strengths by developing demonstrators of solutions that meet the GHG emission reduction needs of Indian corporates.   We provided guidance, training and coaching in effective collaboration that helped address a range of challenges that arose in relation to these demanding collaborations.

Mapping UK tech strengths against Indian corporate needs in relation to low carbon growth: We were commissioned by the UK High Commission in India to carry out an investigation and consultation over 6 months to build a wide-ranging, high level picture of what Indian corporates are finding challenging in relation to achieving business growth while reducing GHG emissions, and what strengths the UK has in different technology areas that could address those.  Between us, we mapped out over 600 companies and tech owners, analysing different Government data sets and resources to build our analysis.  We also identified a set of companies and academics with a strong interest in working with India and provided opportunities for them to promote their offers. The work enabled us to extend our network into a wide range of tech areas and build strong links with a number of the UK Government Funded Innovation Centres – Catapults.

Investigating the extent and nature of satellite enabled agriculture within India: We were commissioned by the Satellite Applications Catapult to conduct a rapid review (over 3 weeks) of evidence of satellite enabled tech supporting the agriculture sector in India, and the main trends within this. We reviewed over 70 reports and articles and identified around 60 different systems and services, to produce the report.

Lead and facilitate consultation on potential for UK and India to collaborate on digital telecommunications tech: This project, commissioned by the UK High Commission in India, consists of a series of document reviews, individual interviews and consultation webinars to build a picture of where UK and Indian research and tech in the digital telecoms sector could be strategically combined to deliver new solutions for domestic and global markets. UC was instrumental in securing a range of specialist and high-profile participants from across the UK academia and commercial space.

Facilitate consultation with Indian corporates regarding needs for immersive tech: We were commissioned by the Digital Catapult to advise them on how to engage with Indian corporations that could benefit from immersive technologies to support training and manufacturing activities.  We worked as intermediaries in building the relationship with the major Indian power company, NTPC, and held discussions offering advice and seeking to understand the position of all parties, leading to a very successful webinar that established a great deal of potentially useful insights.
