Sheffield City Region companies can benefit from financial support from the Department for International Trade to assist SMEs in this region which includes some new funding which has just been released….

Grant intervention rate 60%
-
Minimum grant £1000 – therefore minimum project value £1666 for eligible activities

Maximum grant £5000
-
Timeframe: Expenditure must be defrayed and claimed within six months of grant award
-
Any successful application will include an element of job creation
This will be in two distinct programmes:

Export Development Grant. Attracts maximum of £2,000.00, with a minimum grant of £1,000.00 making minimum project overall cost £1,667
-
Export Expansion Grant. Attracts maximum £5,000.00 so maximum project costs of £8,333.00
Typically this funding might support a specific export project that involves;

further penetration of existing reactive markets; or
-
selling existing product lines into new markets; or
-
new products into existing markets.

DIT is looking to invest time and funding into projects that could lead to a step change in the business and as such are likely to comprise several strands of activity which might include some or possibly all of the following actions:

Web internationalisation and cultural alignment

Market research and outreach
-
Travel and accommodation
-
Overseas exhibition attendance and/or participation

Tradeshows
