Sheffield City Region companies can benefit from financial support from the Department for International Trade to assist SMEs in this region which includes some new funding which has just been released….

  • Grant intervention rate 60%

  • Minimum grant £1000 – therefore minimum project value £1666 for eligible activities

  • Maximum grant £5000

  • Timeframe: Expenditure must be defrayed and claimed within six months of grant award

  • Any successful application will include an element of job creation

This will be in two distinct programmes:

Typically this funding might support a specific export project that involves;

  • selling existing product lines into new markets; or

  • new products into existing markets.

DIT is looking to invest time and funding into projects that could lead to a step change in the business and as such are likely to comprise several strands of activity which might include some or possibly all of the following actions:

  • Web internationalisation and cultural alignment

  • Market research and outreach

  • Travel and accommodation

  • Overseas exhibition attendance and/or participation

  • Tradeshows

Unconventional Connections can help you get in touch with an International Trade Advisor who can talk over what is on offer and how to apply.

There may also be support available to assist local  SMEs with the cost of engaging consultants to undertake specific projects which will lead to growth. Contact the Growth Hub for further details.
